The Central African Republic (CAR) is a landlocked humid equatorial country in Central Africa, sharing borders with Chad in the north, Sudan to the northeast, South Sudan to the east, and the Democratic Republic of Congo and Congo to the south, and Cameroon to the west.
CAR is a least-developed country and one of the poorest countries in the world, but features a high degree of biological diversity and enormous natural resources, such as rich agricultural lands, wood, gold, and diamonds. The main risk from climate change is an increase in the number of hot days, extreme temperature, and duration of heat waves.
