Congo Republic, located in Central Africa, is bordered by the countries of Gabon, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Dem. Rep. of Congo, and the Atlantic Ocean. The country is vulnerable to increases in temperature, decreases in precipitation, and increased risks of floods and droughts. Seasonal floods have affected human settlements, agriculture, public health, and biological diversity. Climatic factors have undermined public health, with vector-borne and waterborne diseases, such as malaria, taking up 40 percent of the health expenditure.
