Grenada is a small island country located between the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. It consists of three islands — mainland Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique. The country is primarily vulnerable to storms and hurricanes. Storm surges in the coastal area cause localized flooding in low reaches or cliffside erosion. There is also a risk of landslides during the annual rainy season in the mountain regions. The country’s vulnerability is exacerbated by its high dependence on climate-sensitive sectors, such as agriculture and tourism.
