Libya is located in North Africa, with the Mediterranean Sea to the north. It is bordered by Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Niger, Algeria, and Tunisia. Libya is vulnerable to heavy rainfall during winter, which often causes flooding in roads and streets within city centers. As the country is 95 percent desert, it is also at risk of droughts and desertification. Strong dry winds blowing over the desert also result in sandstorms and dust storms that obscure the sun and reduce visibility to almost zero.
