Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) for eligible recipient countries to serve on CIF Trust Fund Committees

The Climate Investment Funds (CIF), is comprised of two trust funds, the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and Strategic Climate Fund (SCF). Each is governed by a Trust Fund Committee that oversees and decides on strategic direction, operations, and other activities, as well as the policies that drive those activities. Equal numbers of representatives from contributor and recipient countries serve as decision-making members of CIF Trust Fund Committees.

CIF now invites eligible recipient countries to express their interest in serving a three-year term as a member of either the CTF or SCF Trust Fund Committees. This new three-year membership term will run from January 2025 to December 2027. This membership presents an invaluable opportunity to contribute to the mission of driving climate action through strategic funding and support.

Eligibility Criteria

In accordance with the CTF and SCF Governance Framework Documents, a country is eligible to express interest to become a member of a CIF Trust Fund Committee if it:

• meets Official Development Assistance (ODA) eligibility (according to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development/Development Assistance Committee (OECD/DAC) guidelines); and
• has an active MDB country program. For this purpose, an “active” program means where an MDB has a lending program and/or on-going policy dialogue with the country.

How to Apply

Eligible recipient countries interested in committee membership should submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) by December 5, 2024. To apply, please complete and submit EOI form.

Membership selection for both the CTF and SCF Trust Fund Committees follows a self-selection consultation process involving interested recipient countries.
