From February 6 – 10, 2017, the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) and the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) are jointly convening a learning event on mini-grids in Naypyidaw, Myanmar. The week-long event will include roundtable discussions involving different stakeholder groups, a technical conference, and a field visit to rural communities electrified through mini-grids.
The event comes at a time when micro and mini grids provide great promise for electrifying large groups of people who never had access to electricity before. The event will host public and private sector participants from around the world, including many managers and decision makers of mini-grid programs in Asia and Africa.
