In the third of the series, this Transformational Change Learning Partnership (TCLP) Working Session focused on “A Toolkit to Maximize Transformational Impact”

CIF’s Senior Evaluation Officer and TCLP lead, Michael Ward, introduced a toolkit that brings an evaluation and learning lens to CIF’s Renewable Energy Integration Program's  investment planning processes. The toolkit uses the TCLP transformational change framework and its dimensions which had been adapted for a Renewable Energy Integration program context. The toolkit also incorporates practical evaluative questions for each of the framework’s five dimensions. It's the first in a series of evaluation toolkits that embeds and operationalizes transformational change in the investment criteria of all new CIF programs.

The virtual working session forms part of a new series of informal 60-minute workshops to collaborate on evidence, knowledge, and analysis that can drive transformational change in climate action and grow the TCLP’s community of practice. Follow the series here.

Introduction to the TCLP Working Sessions
09:05 AM - 09:15 AM
Theme Presentation by Michael Robert Ward
09:15 AM - 09:55 AM
Discussion: Working Through 5 questions
1. Do you find the overall structure of the toolkit not user-friendly? What would you change about the structure for toolkits of other new CIF programs?
2. Who do you think will benefit the most from utilizing this toolkit?
3. Do you find this toolkit useful and relevant for maximizing the transformational intent on the work you do?
4. How do you envision possibly using this toolkit and its questions through the program, project, or investment plan cycle that you work for?
5. What additional evaluative tools would you be interested in seeing on a toolkit like this? (e.g. methods and approaches, such as back casting?)
