ACT is supporting countries to pilot all aspects of the energy transition, from governance (policies and institutional reforms) to infrastructure (e.g. retiring and repurposing existing coal assets), to ensuring just transitions for affected workers and communities. 

Supports fossil fuel-dependent countries to pilot and scale up low-carbon technologies with significant potential for reducing long-term greenhouse gas emissions. It provides concessional financing for large-scale renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable transport projects.

A funding window under the Clean Technology Fund dedicated to supporting energy storage solutions at scale in developing countries, to bring renewable power to consumers when they need it. 

Supports developing countries to reverse the impact of human actions and climate change on forests through direct investments to address the drivers of deforestation and forest degradation. FIP empowers communities dependent on forests, including Indigenous peoples, to manage their natural resources to support sustainable development.

Channels concessional funding to developing countries, to accelerate the transition to net-zero for high-emitting industries. A unique element of the program is the strategic public-private coalitions CIF has built, to spur innovation, prove technologies, and shift established industry behavior.

Funds the development of nature-based solutions in low- and middle-income countries, from small island developing states to sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. NPC supports both people and climate through recognizing the interdependence of land use, mitigation and adaptation, and sources of livelihoods of rural communities and Indigenous peoples.

Champions pioneering resilience and adaptation strategies tailored to country needs – funding a range of pilot projects from irrigation systems to disaster risk reduction through a country-led, participatory, and programmatic approach.

The world’s only climate finance program dedicated 100 percent to clean energy integration, supporting countries to adapt their energy systems to renewables. REI fills a critical gap in the energy transition by funding power grid improvements, storage technologies, and other infrastructure and policy updates needed to enable the large-scale deployment of solar and wind power. 

Enables the world’s poorest countries to expand energy access through renewable technologies. SREP brings clean energy finance to countries and communities where market solutions are not yet viable, piloting innovative delivery models to prove the viability of solar, wind, geothermal, and other technologies.

Will help countries undergoing challenges from rapid urbanization to support their newly emerging cities, while they are still in development, by ensuring that their growth is managed in climate-smart, green, inclusive, and sustainable ways.

Helps mobilize resources and de-risk the energy sector by funding early-stage activities designed to attract and accelerate clean energy investments. With this funding, countries build capacity and are empowered to create the enabling environment necessary to transition to clean energy.
