Building Resilience in Cambodia
This case study examines a project aimed to enhancing resilience in Cambodia’s Koh Kong and Mondulkiri provinces through integrated interventions in agriculture, infrastructure, and biodiversity. Implemented by the Royal Government of Cambodia and Asian Development Bank, it improved water access for over 2,000 households, protected farmland from saltwater intrusion, and promoted sustainable farming practices. Despite coordination and implementation challenges, the project demonstrated the effectiveness of multisectoral, community-driven approaches in addressing agricultural, energy, water, and financial vulnerabilities, as well as improving rural livelihoods. Lessons learned offer valuable insights for future extreme weather preparedness and multi-sector development in similar regions.
