The $1 billion program Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) champions pioneering resilience strategies and approaches, in the countries and regions most vulnerable to the destructive impacts of climate change.
Leading on adaptation
Much of South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, South and Central Americas, the Arctic and almost all Small Island Developing States have reached a state of climate emergency, with profound ramifications for lives, livelihoods, health, and wellbeing.
PPCR is a $1 billion program supporting these highly vulnerable countries to integrate climate resilience into strategic development plans, and then deploy innovative adaptation solutions to execute them – from irrigation systems to disaster risk reduction.
Through a country-led, participatory, and programmatic approach, PPCR enables institutional arrangements and multi-stakeholder processes needed to accelerate and scale up adaptation action. This inclusive approach has been proven to spur innovation at the community level.

BDRP Key Results
The Business Development for Resilience Program (BDRP) window under PPCR aims to develop innovative private sector initiatives, support governments in mainstreaming climate risk management and resilience into economic planning and development, and undertake key technical assistance activities that will enable future investments in climate resilience.
